Who We Are
An independent software engineering company. Japan-focused. Built for long-term international collaboration. Engineering-first from day one.
Software Engineering
for Modern Business
Arisavo is an independent software engineering company focused on building practical digital solutions for businesses. We work primarily with companies in Japan and are designed for long-term international collaboration.
We don't pretend to have a decade of history or a roster of enterprise clients. What we do have is a genuine engineering-first mindset, a clear set of working principles and a commitment to building software that functions correctly and remains maintainable after launch.
A note on transparency
We won't invent client testimonials, project counts or years of experience to appear more established than we are. Our credibility comes from the quality of our work and the clarity of our communication — not from marketing copy.
Japan-focused
Japan is our primary market. We understand the importance of clear communication, reliable delivery and long-term business relationships in the Japanese context.
Engineering-first
We are engineers who think about business problems, not business consultants who outsource engineering. Code quality and maintainability come first.
Remote-ready
Structured for long-distance collaboration: clear documentation, async communication, transparent progress and milestone-based delivery.
Long-term support
We prefer building relationships over delivering projects and moving on. Ongoing maintenance and iteration are a natural part of how we work.
How We Think
Three principles that guide how we work on every project.
Ambiguity is expensive. We define scope explicitly before starting, communicate progress clearly throughout, and document technical decisions so they can be reviewed and questioned. When something is unclear, we say so.
The most dangerous moment in software is right after it ships. We design with long-term operation in mind: testable code, observable systems, dependency management and documentation for the team that inherits the work.
AI is genuinely useful for specific problems: data extraction, classification, summarization, repetitive text processing. It is not useful everywhere. We evaluate each use case honestly and recommend simpler solutions when they are more reliable and cheaper to maintain.
Why Japan
Significant technology demand
Japanese businesses across manufacturing, retail, logistics and services continue to invest in digitalization. There is consistent demand for reliable web systems, automation tools and practical AI integration.
Quality and reliability are valued
Japanese business culture places a strong emphasis on precision, long-term reliability and clear communication — values that align directly with how we approach engineering work.
International engineering perspective
We bring a combination of international software engineering practice and Japan-specific market understanding. Both are necessary for building software that works well in a Japanese business context.
Long-term relationship model
Japan tends to favor stable, long-term vendor relationships over frequent switching. This matches our preference for ongoing partnerships rather than one-off project deliveries.
English is the global entry point. Japanese is the first and currently most important specialized market. Vietnamese is planned as the next local version.
How We Work
The practical side of what it's like to work with Arisavo.
Scope first
Every engagement starts with a written scope. What we're building, what we're not building, how success is measured, and what "done" means. This prevents surprises on both sides.
Milestone-based delivery
Work is broken into reviewable milestones, not delivered as one large batch at the end. You can see and test progress throughout, not just at the finish line.
Async-first communication
We work across time zones and respect focused work time. Written updates, clear documentation and structured handoffs — not daily calls for information that should be written down.
You own the code
Everything we build belongs to you. No vendor lock-in, no proprietary platforms that require us to maintain. Clean, documented code you can hand to any competent developer.
Technology chosen for fit
We don't push a single stack onto every project. PHP, Python, Go, WordPress — the right tool is chosen based on what the problem actually requires, not what we happen to know best.
Honest timelines
We give realistic estimates, not optimistic ones. If something takes longer than expected, we communicate early — not on the day the deadline passes.
What to Expect — and What Not To
We think it's useful to be direct about this before starting a conversation.
